South Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Bernard Tambunan said, the distribution follows up on residents' applications, with recipient data gathered from every sub-district.
"Prior to receiving the aids, recipients undergo ear measurements and further check-ups to maximize the device's effectiveness," he stated, Tuesday (4/14).
Seniors in South Jakarta Receive Assistance with 17 Hearing AidsProviding a breakdown, he stated that the 118 hearing aids distributed since early April 2026 went to 10 residents in Pasar Minggu, 12 in Jagakarsa, and six in Cilandak.
"The distribution also included one recipient in Mampang Prapatan, eight in Setiabudi, 29 in Kebayoran Baru, 13 in Kebayoran Lama, nine in Pesanggrahan, seven in Pancoran, and 23 in Tebet," he added.
According to Bernard, beneficiaries have already undergone a verification process. They must provide a low-income certificate (SKTM), RT/RW recommendation letters, and be listed in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).
"The completeness of these documents ensures that the assistance reaches the right people—those from low-income backgrounds who are in genuine need," he added.
He hoped that these hearing aids will give residents more opportunities and renewed spirit to reach their full potential in their daily lives and social interactions.
"We're committed to ensuring that those in need receive help. We encourage anyone requiring assistance to apply immediately through the sub-district level or by coming directly to the South Jakarta Social Sub-agency," he said.
